Facilities

The bulk of the windows are on the southern side of the building, and fill the apartment with radiant natural light. Tasteful lamps and indirect lights make for a beautiful, warm atmosphere in the evenings. From the fourth floor, Gunther49 provides you with a wonderful view of Nuremberg’s Nibelungen Villa Quarter.

The floors in the dining room and in the hallways are marble from regional quarries. The floors in the living room and in the bedrooms are solid hardwood in maple. The bathrooms and the kitchen are tiled. All rooms are appointed with floor length curtains. The southern-facing windows are equipped with blinds, allowing you to get those precious hours of sleep no matter how much jet lag you have. A storage room in the cellar of approximately 250 square feet can be arranged.

The apartment has one furnished, recessed balcony and a separate, smaller balcony. Smoking is allowed on the balconies, but not in the apartment.

Shopping etc.

There are excellent shopping facilities just outside the door: EDEKA within walking distance (Holzgartenstraße 22-24, 90461 Nuremberg or by delivery service), and another supermarket, a pharmacy, a fitness centre and a bouldering hall in the Nürbanum Business Centre just 350 metres away. Just a few hundred meters away from the apartment in Hainstraße, the large “Luitpoldviertel” was opened in 2024, which also offers an EDEKA flagship store, a bakery and other very good shopping facilities.

Culinary delights

If you don‘t feel like cooking, the Blaues Haus restaurant or the legendary Landbierparadies will provide Franconian specialities, you can enjoy Asian cuisine at the huge Lin Asia or sushi at Osaka in the Nürbanum and the first-class Italian restaurant Al Parco with its lovely garden is also just around the corner. For breakfast, try Der Beck or Kriemhildes Backwut around the corner.

Connection Information

• You can reach the main railway station in 8 minutes by car.
• The nearest tram stop „Holzgartenstraße“ in Wodanstraße is very close to the flat (2 minutes‘ walk). From here you can reach the main railway station in just a few stops and return by the same tram in the direction of Doku-Zentrum.
• Very convenient location to the two main roads Regensburger Straße and Münchner Straße, both lead to the two motorways A 73 and A 9 in the south of Nuremberg.
• The airport is 10.4 km away and can be reached by the Nuremberg underground, which means you can easily reach the airport in 25 minutes by changing from the tram to the underground at the main railway station.
• The exhibition centre is 3.5 km from here and can also be reached in a few minutes via Münchner Straße.

Gunther49 is in Nuremberg’s Nibelungen Villa Quarter – one of the city’s finest living areas. The apartment is just over 2 miles away from the trade fair center “NürnbergMesse” (just turn once onto the Münchener Straße and go!) and close to the city center (only 1.7 miles to “Lorenzer Platz” – the factual city center).

Only a short walk away is one of Nuremberg’s historic parks – the Luitpoldhain. During the summer the Luitpoldhain plays host to the “Klassik Open Air” concert series -  a series of classical music concerts by Nuremberg’s Orchestras where the audience brings their own picnic and relaxes to the sound of music. The extensive lawns in the Luitpoldhain can be used for sunbathing, and there’s even a putt-putt course.

Just on the other side of the Luitpoldhain – about a mile away on foot – lies the “Volkspark Dutzendteich”. The Dutzendteich sports two large lakes and several smaller lakes, as well as a large recreation area with diverse facilities, such as paddleboats, rollerblade parks, sailing, bike trails and much more.

The Dutzendteich was also home to the Nazi party rally grounds and as such is now the location of the Documentation Center - Nazi Party Rally Grounds. The Documentation Center hosts a permanent exhibition “Fascination and Terror”, which examines the causes, the context and the consequences of the Nazi Regime.

Just a few minutes to the north of Gunther49 is the “Wöhrder See” – a beautiful and diverse lake going right up to the city – and its surrounding flood plains, the “Wöhrder Wiese”. For the active type, the “Wöhrder See” offers bike trails and a sandy beach with volleyball net. For more relaxed days, there are several Biergärten (Beer Gardens) on the lake and in the surrounding area. Surrounding the “Obere Wöhrder See” – the upper part of the lake – you’ll find rare birds and plants. Boat rentals are available on the “Untere Wöhrder See”, or the lower part of the lake.
